1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Koeru, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Koeru.

2. What Koeru is

Koeru is an interactive coaching platform. It provides AI-powered coaching experiences built on book content and expert methodologies.

Koeru is not:

  • A licensed therapy or counselling service
  • A medical, legal or financial advisory service
  • A replacement for professional help
  • The actual author of any book

The coaching agents on Koeru are AI systems inspired by book content. They are not the authors themselves and do not represent the authors' personal views or advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Koeru. By using Koeru you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing accurate account information

You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others.

5. Acceptable use

You may use Koeru only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.

You may not:

  • Use Koeru to harm, harass or threaten others
  • Attempt to extract, scrape or reproduce book content
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to access Koeru's systems
  • Use Koeru to train AI models or build competing products
  • Share your account credentials
  • Use Koeru if you are under 18

6. Subscriptions and payments

Free tier

Koeru offers a free tier with limited sessions per book.

Paid subscription

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges to your payment method.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial periods.

Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of your first payment if you are not satisfied. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

Price changes

We will notify you at least 30 days before any price changes.

7. Content and intellectual property

Book content

Books on Koeru are licensed from authors or publishers. You may not reproduce, extract or distribute book content from Koeru.

Your content

Your session conversations and profile data belong to you. You grant Koeru a limited licence to process this data to provide the service.

Koeru's content

The Koeru platform, design, and technology are owned by us. You may not copy, modify or distribute them.

8. AI coaching — important disclaimers

The coaching agents on Koeru are AI systems. They are not the authors of any book, not licensed therapists, not financial advisors, and not legal professionals.

Do not rely on Koeru for:

  • Medical decisions or health advice
  • Financial investment decisions
  • Legal advice
  • Crisis intervention or mental health emergencies

If you are in crisis: Please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. In the Netherlands: 0800-0113 (113 Suicide Prevention). In the UK: 116 123 (Samaritans).

Koeru is a coaching and self-development tool. It is not a substitute for professional help.

9. Data and privacy

Your use of Koeru is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

  • You own your data
  • You can export or delete your data at any time
  • We do not sell your data

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Koeru is provided “as is” without warranties
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim
  • We are not liable for decisions you make based on coaching sessions

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.

On termination, your data is deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to terms

We will notify you at least 30 days before material changes to these terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
